Teen suicide and causes of suicide
There are many teen suicide stories coming from the UK. Some are calling it a suicide epidemic and are blaming it on the internet. I highly doubt the internet is one of the major causes of suicides but I can see the nice memorials put up as a way for others to feel dying is the only way to get some positive attention.
There are many ways to commit suicide and also a few painless ways to commit suicide. However most people who kill themselves in the USA use a gun. I don’t see that as particularly painless tho.
Surprisingly enough white males commit suicide more often and more successfully than any other group. BTW, these are older people, over 30, not young teens. Actually there are more suicides every year than there are murders.
Causes of teen and older people suicides can be almost anything. Anger, hurt, hopelessness, depression and just plain tired of it all. Me? I’ve thought about it before and think about it now. Lol, it worries my doctor but it doesn’t worry me at all.
One day I expect I’ll commit suicide but that’s still far in the future. When I can no longer function at what is an acceptable level to me I’m going to die. In my mind it will be a mercy killing, at that point. I’m not going to sit in a nursing home and wait to die while people change my diaper and feed me.
Unfortunately I have no fear of death and see it as the beginning of a new adventure. However I’m not going to kill myself anytime soon. I view it as giving up and that’s something I’ve never done in my life.
My life may not be the greatest at all times but I’m old enough to know that most things will pass and life will ge better. Depression and being depressed can cause thoughts of suicide and I’ve had them more than a few times.
If you are feeling suicidal or depressed please talk to someone or see your doctor. You don’t have to feel as bad as you do and things aren’t near as hopeless as you think they are.
