Criminals, robbers, senior citizens and crime rate

January 9th, 2009 by Old Dude (3) Misc

With the economy failing the crime rate is going up. Criminals, robbers and other bad people are committing crimes against senior citizens because they think they are easy targets. Lol, that’s all about to change as my generation is starting to enter their 60’s. MOF they have already started. I’m 61 and at the leading edge of the baby boomers.

I feel sorry for criminals who think seniors are going to be easy pickings. Many of us carry guns and aren’t afraid to use them. Way to many of us served in Nam and aren’t afraid of violence. Many of us aren’t going to be pushed around because we know we can take care of ourselves.

I keep seeing ads for Clint Eastwoods new movie, which I haven’t seen, and I’m not surprised that an old man isn’t afraid of gangs. Nor am I surprised he’s not afraid to take the fight to them.

So I have a message for the criminals who might think older guys are going to be easy targets. Be prepared to die because us older people aren’t afraid to shoot and then ask questions later. If you aren’t prepared to die for the twenty bucks in my billfold then go find someone easier to rob cause if you come after me I’m going to kill you if I can.

I’m not going to play fair, there are no Marquis of Queensbury rules, lol, we learned that in Nam, and I’m going to hurt you before you have a chance to hurt me. Hell, we may even form vigilante groups and go after some of these punks to make our own neighborhoods safer.

Can you imagine that? Bald, fat, skinny, frail old men in gangs with guns going after young idiots that think seniors are easy prey. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that in the next 10 years a high percentage of killings are done by seniors protecting themselves from the various criminal elements that would prey on them.

Can you imagine a neighborhood watch composed of old men with nothing else to do but watch out the windows with their rifles and shotguns. What the young punks don’t know is we’ve already been through hell and made it so a few gang bangers aren’t much to fear. Not when you’ve been attacked by a few thousand NVA determined to kill you or die trying. We all fought them off and we sure as hell aren’t afraid of a few gang bangers or stupid punks.

We will protect what’s ours, we will protect our families, we will protect our neighbors and we really won’t mind if we have to kill a few people to have some peace. We will not live in fear or be victims. Criminals and robbers are going to find we aren’t afraid and we aren’t afraid to retaliate either.

Makes me wonder how laws are going to change in the future because as a voting block seniors will definitely be in control.

Yep, life is going to get interesting. I feel sorry for anyone who breaks into my house or even trys to. Considering it’s just me and my significant other living in our house I’ve decided on a new policy. Only the two of us have keys, the doors are always locked as are the windows so anyone found in the house after we retire is going to be shot. Simple and effective. No questions, no warnings, no nothing. Just boom and then call 911.

Yes, I know the law says I must feel threatened to use deadly force and if someone getting into my house while it’s locked isn’t threatening I don’t know what is. Lol, at my age, 62 in 3 weeks, anyone in my house who isn’t supposed to be there is a threat to my safety and security. That’s all I need to shoot and when I shoot I’m not going to be shooting to wound anyone. 2 in the chest, 1 in the head and then dial 911 to send the meat wagon.

Ex army, proud gun owner and able to take care of myself and my wife. The 12 guage is loaded with double ought and the 44 is loaded with hollow points. People call me paranoid because I have a weapon of one kind or another available in every room of my house. Yes, even the bathroom. Nice liitle double barrel 410 pistol one barrel loaded with a slug and the other with number 2 shot.

I never leave the house without a weapon and haven’t for about 10 years now. I’m a firm believer in the right to bear arms and I think gun ownership should be mandatory for everyone over the age of 18. The obvious exception being criminals. I firmly believe if we all had guns the society as a whole would be a lot better off and there’d be a lot less crime than there is now.

The punks depend on fear and violence. Lol, at my age I have little fear and violence, considering my age, is no stranger. Saw more than my share of it in the 66-68 time period. Like a lot of people my age I grew up hunting and respect guns. Any guns. However like a lot of people my age I’ll give up my guns when they pry them from my cold, dead fist. The govt can’t protect us, the police can’t protect us so it’s up to us to protect ourselves.

Nothing against the police, they do the best they can but most of the time they are to late. It’s oaky, they can be late to my place as the corpse won’t be going anywhere.

Sure having a gun inside will protect you if someone breaks in but if you can keep them from breaking in isn’t that just that much better. Statistics sem to show that hving a gun in the home gets the homeowner shot as often as it does the robbers. OTOH most people are afraid to shoot but I doubt that applies to you.
